In this clinic, children with anemia, unclear signs of bleeding and laboratory changes in the blood are treated according to the latest guidelines, taking into account the specific aspects of their development. Also, patients with congenital hemoglobin diseases, especially thalassemia and sickle cell anemia, are treated at the day clinic and polyclinic of the hospital. Approx. 60 patients with haemophilia and other congenital coagulation disorders are regularly examined. The thrombosis clinic looks after newborns and children after newly occurring thromboses, with congenital or acquired thrombosis risk factors, signs of a post-thrombotic syndrome and patients who need short-term or long-term anticoagulation therapy. As part of the multidisciplinary team of the Stem Cell Transplantation Department, the Hematology Department is responsible for establishing the indications for bone marrow transplantation in hematological diseases and for performing stem cell and leukocyte apheresis.
