Pediatric Hospital - Giannina Gaslini Institute in Genoa

The department welcomes patients with oncological pathologies in the diagnostic phase, who follow a first-line treatment or later, for high-dose and myeloablative therapies or experimental therapeutic programs. It has 9 single hospital rooms, equipped with a patient bed and a sofa bed for a parent and a bathroom.

The day hospital has 10 beds and 5 medical rooms shared by the Department of Oncology, Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, Hematology, Coagulation and Outpatient.

About 90 new children and adolescents with solid tumors, lymphomas and histiocytosis are diagnosed / treated every year. Specifically, the diseases treated are:

Neuroblastoma

Soft tissue sarcomas (rhabdomyosarcomas and other soft tissue sarcomas)

Kidney tumors

Liver tumors

Germ cell tumors

Bone tumors

Rare tumors (e.g. carcinomas, carcinoids, melanomas, gonadal tumors, pheochromocytoma, pleuropulmonary blastoma ...)

Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas

Hodgkin's lymphoma

Histiocytosis
